Priyanka Chopra’s upcoming Marathi movie: ‘Kay Re Rascala’

After the huge success of the movie Ventilator, Priyanka Chopra has announced her next Marathi movie named ‘Kay Re Rascala’. Priyanka Chopra is growing by leaps and bounds in the international arena and she has no looking back now. Apart from being a Bollywood actress, she dons the hat of a producer, plays the central character in one of America’s most popular series Quantico.

Recently Priyanka has proved herself as a successful producer by some of the movies like Bam Bam Bol Raha Hai Kashi (2016) in Bhojpuri language, and two more regional films — Ventilator (2016) in Marathi and Sarvann (2017) in Punjabi. Recently, she also announced her Sikkimese-Nepalese film, Paua.

‘Ventilator’ 2016 proved to be an emotional family entertainer. Priyanka had also made a special appearance in Ventilator, which went on to become one of the biggest hits of 2016, as per sources it is possible that she might appear in this Film too. She also sang a Marathi special number titled as ‘Baba’ for the movie Ventilator.

Recently the ‘Muhurut’ event of Priyanka’s ‘Kay Re Rascala’ happened in the presence of Priyanka’s mother producer Dr. Madhu Chopra, director of the film Giridharan Swami, & rest of the film’s team. Also Kunika Sadanand is the executive producer of this film. She personally couldn’t attend the event but she had wished the whole team all the best through a video. She also said that just like Ventilator this film will surely make the audience laugh a lot.

The shooting of this movie has already started in Mumbai and the team will be going to Kolhapur or Solapur in February for their second Schedule. The star cast of this movie includes well known Marathi actors like Gaurav Ghatnekar,, Supriya Pathare, Nagesh Bhonsle , Nikhil Ratnaparkhi, Bhagyashree Mothe, Akshar Kothari, , Aishwarya Sunar, Shrikant Mhase, and Nihar Gite.

The unusual name of this movie ‘Kay Re Rascala’ hints that this Marathi movie is going to be a comedy blend of Maharashtrian and South Indian cultures.
