Kranti Redkar born on 17 August 1982 is a well known Marathi film, television and stage actor, notable for her roles in Marathi theatre and Marathi films and television.
Her debut in films was in a Marathi through the film ‘Soon Asavi Ashi’ in the year 2000 opposite Ankush Choudhary. Later she also played an important character of a kidnapped girl – Apoorva in Prakash Jha’s Hindi film ‘Gangaajal’ (2003).
She is best known for her super hit popular Marathi song ‘Kombdi palali, tangdi dharun ….langadi ghalaya laagli’ opposite Bharat Jadhav in the popular 2006 Marathi film Jatra.
She is a very good at mimicry and imitates Bollywood superstars like Shridevi and Hema Malani.
Currently she has donned the director’s hat and directed a movie named KAAKAN starring Jeetendra Joshi & Urmila Kanetkar. Giving acting a break, Kranti was completely dedicating herself to ‘Kaakan’, her directorial debut. The film managed to create a buzz with lead actors Jitendra Joshi and Urmila Kothare’s different looks.
This versatile Marathi actress Kranti Redkar, who proved her mettle as a director, also surprised her fans through singing. She had sung song ‘Lutala Lutala’ for her film ‘Kiran Kulkarni vs Kiran Kulkarni’. In this movie she was casted opposite to Subodh Bhave.
