Stars form M-town and Bollywood team up to help drought affected families in Maharashtra

Now-a-days we see that celebrities do social work only to stay in news constantly. However here are few celebrities who are supporting drought-affected people without making any social media hype about it. They include some Bollywood and Marathi industry Stars who are trying to do possible thing to support drought-affected families. As per the sources Bollywood actors and Marathi theatre and film personalities are trying to reach all of Marathwada and Vidarbha to help drought-affected people. With the help of the government and organisations, they are targeting and focusing on water scarcity, drought-hit regions of Maharashtra and trying to help the families of the farmer suicides in Latur.

Nana Patekar and Makarand Anaspure have formed the NAAM Foundation. This foundation has been working since past 7 months to help the drought-affected families.

Speaking about this Makarand said, “Actress Renuka Shanane, Marathi actor Jitendra Joshi, senior actor Dilip Prabhavalkar, actress Girija Oak, director Purushottame Berde, actor Sayaji Shinde and others helped us. In just seven months, the foundation has received between Rs 30-35 crore.”
NAAM has been helping families with monetary compensation,sewing machines, flour mills, sheep and development of small-scale industries. Besides this they are joining hands with people and organizations who are working on the agenda of water conservation initiatives.

According to the sources Bollywood super star Akshay Kumar is planning to collaborate with actor Riteish Deshmukh in Latur for a charity show. Also he has helped the families of at least 180 farmers who have committed suicide. As per the sources he also donated Rs 50 lakh to the Jalyukt Shivar scheme.

Aamir Khan has formed `Paani Foundation’. He recently announced a contest on social media called Water Cup, for water conservation. Moreover Aamir Khan is personally taking care of official meetings and other necessary procedures. Taking about this project Satyajit Bhatkal informed the media that, they have trained representatives of these villages with the help of experts. Aamir is holding meetings officials and the winner will receive Rs 50 lakh. In the end, all villages will winners as they will save water.
