Actor Riteish Deshmukh is out of action ever since his last movie, Banjo, released last year in September. This film did not do well at the box-office. However, we will soon see him in Yash Raj Film’s Bank Chor under the direction of Bumpy. The actor has also signed play the iconic Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji. This film has grabbed Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma’s attention he tweeted saying that, “Am sure Riteish is doing Shivaji at this large scale only for it to become ultimate pride of Maharashtra like Bahubali for Andhra Pradesh”
As per the sources Ritesh Deshmukh will be seen playing the role of great Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji maharaj. As per Ram Gopal Verma, this film is going to become the pride of Maharashtra. Along with acting in this film he is also going to be the producer for this film.
Film Director Ram Gopal Varma also tweeted that, “After the Baahubali thunder I just heard the great news that Ritesh Deshmukh is making Shivaji at a whopping cost of more than Rs 225 crore”. However there is no official confirmation about this news.
He also said that this film based on the life of Shivaji maharaj is more heroic than the blockbuster movie Baahubali. He said that Shivaji is known as the great Maratha Warrior hence he is expecting to see amazing battle scenes in this film.
This film based on Chhatrapati Shivaji will be directed by Ravi Jadhav. The director Ravi Jadhav has earlier made the movies like Balak-Palak and Sound of Heaven: The Story of Balgandharva.
Currently, Ram Gopal Varma is waiting for release of his film ‘Sarkar 3’ which is going to hit the silver screen on coming Friday. This political-thriller has top bollywood actor like Amitabh Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Manoj Bajpayee, Ronit Roy, Amit Sadh and actress Yami Gautam.
